FUNDESER

  • The Fundación para el Desarrollo Social Económico Rural (FUNDESER), is a non-profit making institution, stablished mainly in rural areas since 1997. With the head office in Managua, FUNDESER started as a social project for farming development and it turned into a specialized entity in rural financial services.
  • Risk calcification given by MicroRating was α (alpha). In December 2007, the portfolio was USD 14 million and over 20.000 clients with an average of USD 695 each credit/client in the farming sector basically.

Project: Administration of Risks in the Financial ONG FUNDESER of Nicaragua

Period of the Project: March - August 2008. 

Product/Services supplied: Risk Management Unit implementation(UGR). Development of organizational structure, policies, user’s guides and risk integral management tools (portfolio, liquidity, market and operational) Development and training of procedures mapping with 5 branches, capacity training, product profitability analysis, product design analysis.

Financial Sponsor: European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE)

Team: Two international expert consultants and two institutional counterparts.
