Christian is a Managing Director for a large German bank in New York, where he Heads of the Investment Management Unit / Credit Investment Group. His focus is on structured finance investments
He is a CFA® Charterholder (Chartered Financial Analyst) since 2000 and holds the title as Financial Risk Manager (FRM ®) since 2006. Christian teaches for various organizations in Frankfurt, Madrid, New York, and Shanghai about topics like risk management, treasury management, cost management, accounting and corporate finance.
Christian is a consultant in the microfinance sector since 2001. He was leading projects among others for DSF-GTZ/FONDESIF where he introduced a product costing system for Cooperativa San Roque and Agrocapital in Bolivia. He has been a consultant for various Cajas Municipales in Perú where he introduced cost-center models and product costing tools for the individual institutions. The projects were partly sponsored by Iniciativa Microfinanzas de COPEME, Perú. Other experience includes: FINCA Uganda (Liquidty Risk Management), Bolivian Banking Supervisión –SBEF (Basel 2 introduction), Bankakademie International (annual summer academy), as well as several projects with Microfinance Institutions and other organizations in Bosnia, Croatia, China, Hungary, Bulgaria, Chile and othe countries.
Over the last years he worked with over 20 different MFIs.
Previously, Christian worked as a director for Deutsche Bank in the area of “Loan Exposure Management Group”, and as an assistant to the bord member responsible for risk management, treasury and operations. He held various additional responsibilities in Deutsche Bank, where he worked since 1991 including Treasury and Syndicated Loans. He worked in Frankfurt, Madrid, New York and Mexico City.
